The event, which attracted nearly 1,000 participants and raised over $175,000 in 2019, will look different this year. Instead of hosting a large gathering, participants will walk as individuals or in small groups of friends and family on sidewalks, tracks and trails across the Southern Adirondack region.
On Walk Day, Oct. 17 at 10:30 a.m., the opening ceremony will be delivered to participants' smartphones, tablets and computers.
On the same day, a group of Alzheimer’s Association staff and volunteers will create the iconic Promise Garden to honor all those impacted by dementia in a “view only” and “drive-by” format. The Promise Garden will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at SUNY Adirondack.
